Uniform officer/first responder plastic toy in front of an Apple , My Sip & Sketch drawings, Session #42, 1/29/21

Random listing of the image subjects:
Uniform officer/first responder plastic toy in front of an Apple
Graphic head shape of some kind of horned beetle
Big round vase with flowers in it
Bird marionette with a long beak and very thin arms and legs and a  ruffled collar
Big fat woolly ram with  huge curly horns
Guardian angel statues on either side of a staircase leading to pool of water that could be an ancient sewer system
Red white and blue balloons with an old red Double Decker bus, and a clown dancing in front.
Young woman wearing an odd shaped curled over tall hat and holding a long string with an orange balloon.
White form that could be a splash of milk or a figure stretching behind stretchy fabric....

Sip & Sketch session #42, hosted by theater costume and set designers, Lisa Jordan and Cindi Taylor. Thank you so much for making these sessions possible.

They curate a set of images for each session. Participants draw each selection at varying 'pose' lengths - until the timer rings. Then most participants show their drawings briefly for a group screen shot in 'gallery ' view. These sessions take place online, in virtual video meeting format.

I've been drawing these with iPad and ipencil in my 'Notes' feature. When I've done 3-4 drawings, I save that strip in my camera roll, and start a new note/drawing. In the session  one can draw in any medium etc one wishes. I've only been using the digital medium because one night I had to hastily change my seating. I was too far from my 'real' materials, but the iPad was right at my hand. It quickly became an adventure of sorts. It is not without its own problems. It's very slippery for instance. But it also allows a good strong black - no pen dipping or dripping to deal with! And allows a fast stroke.

Mozart’s birthday - January 27,

Just saw from somewhere else that it is Mozart’s birthday today.

My post from Mozart's birthday, 1/27/14, (275th?). I painted this miniature years ago, copying the portrait on a Mozart kugeln candy wrapper. It was intended to be some form of jewelry for our mother, who loved Mozart, but this paper mâché base seemed too lightweight to turn into something that would function as brooch or pendant. It would flop around.....

Now what year was he born in that boy genius musical prodigy?  1756!

Polar bear demo screencast drawing, IMG 9348

The other night I did a series of polar bear tablet drawings. All of them as screencasts. You can see the drawing draw itself, but you don’t see me drawing them.! This is only one section of the series. Now to learn how to blur out the top and bottom edges, which might be revealing more than I want. The reference image for this was a photo from National Geographic’s website, but by whom?

A peace of cake - digital drawing for my birthday, 1/5/21

It started out in green because I had not chosen a color and was just using what was already in play. After that I switched to black. I suppose I could switch it to all black, but that might make it more cluttered. While drawing this I was also trying to record it in zoom and do it as a screen share. The little phone camera was on me but not on my act of drawing. In transferring the 'host' power, I gave up the virtual background around me for one of the screens. I have yet to figure any of this out. I'll find out if I recorded it properly and if I did, where is it? I directed it to save to the Cloud, but what does that mean? At least there is a drawing from the experiment! I will try to email this to my blog. That only works half,(if that), the time. Do print this out and color it if you like! The email send worked! Yay! So much easier that way
